‘I Have a Dream’
In addition to established manufacturers, the AVN Novelty Expo always offers a forum for fledgling companies and
toy designers to showcase new products. Not to be missed was the team from Velvet Cock, a San Diego-based brand
that is marketing a line of hand-held fucking machines called the Thruster (TheThruster.com). The powerful motor is
housed in the handle, and the shaft is curved so it reaches all the right spots. It boasts three inches of thrust, as well as
ten speeds that can produce up to 140 strokes per minute.
Company rep Alex retired from the aerospace industry, where he had done 3D printing, and wanted to create a
product that competed with fucking machines. Now he’s offering the Thruster—close to the size of a dildo with an
MSRP that is below $200. “This will be our flagship version and we will also have a smaller version,” Alex said. “We’ve
over-engineered this. … It does more than any other toy on the market. It’s very powerful—it’s got a battery life of
over eight hours.”
EighteenPlus exhibited its technology for use in pleasure products. The company is capable of providing
manufacturers with the technology to produce the features of vibration, pulsation and more they want for their
creations, and is currently looking to work with manufacturers, large and small.
In the busy Erosscia booth, reps displayed the Allure, a vibrator attachment that can be connected to a rechargeable
toothbrush motor to help induce “toe-curling orgasms.” The Allure is designed for clitoral and G-spot stimulation.
Several innovations were created to enhance that old standby, the cock ring. The Cock Cam, a returning exhibitor,
showed its cock ring with a twist. The ring—which performs the traditional function of helping to achieve and
maintain erections—has a camera housed in the casing to take sexual relations to a new level.
Oivita Creative was at ANE with its ORing, a smart vibrating cock ring that was funded through an Indiegogo
campaign. The ORing is designed to enhance the female orgasm experience during use with its unlimited patterns and
ergonomic design.
Visitors to ANE also learned about the features and functions of the Omega Flex, exhibited at ANE for the first time
and offering a new take on the cock ring. “We’re just made every other cock ring design obsolete,” said the company
rep, demonstrating the Omega Flex is an oval shape that is open on the bottom. “It leaves a lot more room for better
sizing and it doesn’t smash the urethra because it’s open at the bottom,” the rep said, adding that allows for enhanced
ejaculation.
The Omega Flex has been offered direct to customers via the company website, Megaflex.biz, but the team is now
looking to do more business with adult retailers. So far, the rep said, Eldorado Trading and some other distributors and
retailers had expressed interest. “Having something new to add to this category is very enticing to the retailers,” he
said. “It’s been a great first show.”
