Going Skin Deep
In addition to toys, other product categories could be found in abundance
at ANE. One of the biggest names was lubricant manufacturer Wet, from
Trigg Laboratories, which showcased its newest and most popular formulas,
including Wet Elite Femme Hybrid Lubricant. The innovative hybrid fusion
offers the benefits of water- and silicone-based lubricants, and is specifically
designed of a woman’s body and most delicate areas. The lubricant is colorless,
odorless and is compatible with most toys. It can be used for solo or couples
play, as well as massage.
Eden Lubricants and Indulge Toys shared a booth at ANE, with Eden
Lubricants exhibiting its silicone- and water-based lubricants, while Indulge
Toys had its newest cock ring collections on display. The rings, which come
three in a pack, are slightly different sizes and come in bright colors that are
sure to catch customers’ eyes.
The rep from Eden said his company’s water-based lube is “not like any
other lubricant out there. It’s made in a homeopathic laboratory. … Nobody
can believe it’s water based.” The vegan formula creates a long-lasting lube,
and, he said, “All the customers are amazed.” What also sets the water-based
formula is the quality of the water used. “The way we purify the water, nobody
can do it,” said the rep. Eden also carries a silicone formula as well as an
anal lubricant, which is a lot thicker and made from a blend of a few types of
silicone.
In a space next to sister brand Rock Candy, items from Bedroom Products
were on display, including lubricant and delay spray for men in convenient
portable sizes.
Superslyde exhibited its lubricants, which entered the U.S. market last year
after finding popularity in Australia. Founded in 2012, SuperSlyde is a family
of premium silicone lubricants. Superslyde is formulated, licensed, marketed
and distributed by Pivot International, and manufactured in Singapore by ICM
Pharma.
Sensuous, another Australian company, offers a range of romance products
made with quality ingredients. The company’s focus at ANE, however, was
to show off its Edge Delay Gel for Men and Frenzy clitoral stimulating gel
for women, both of which have done very well in the U.S. market. The Edge
Delay Gel will even be manufactured in the United States, to ensure it is in
compliance with FDA regulations.
Rascal and Boneyard toys shared a booth, and an item of interest was
the Daisy, a smaller version of the award-winning Skwert. Daisy is the next
generation of the patented Skwert 5-piece kit. The Boneyard Skwert was
released last summer to wide acclaim, and quickly became the company’s
top selling product. Skwert went on to win the 2017 AVN “O” Award for
Outstanding Accessory. And interestingly, this year another Boneyard
product—Snake Oil Cum Lube—came home with an “O” for Outstanding
Lubricant Product of Line.
Other standouts in the body product category could be found in the Lust
Naked booth, where attendees were able to check out the hemp-based body
care products. Lust Naked not only makes arousal gels, lickable body powders
and massage candles, but also antibacterial toy cleaner and lickable massage
gels. The hemp used in the products helps to leave skin soft and hydrated.
