New and notable series and lines
While it’s often the big-ticket adult features and parodies that garner the lion’s share of press, continuing series
and lines on which directors and studios can hang their collective hats are just as important. For the Fresh
Issue we've compiled a cornucopia of new series and lines satisfying a variety of fetishes and representing a cross-
section of studios. Romance? We got that. Big butts and double-penetration? You know we have it. All-girl, gonzo,
vignette and transsexual? Done, done, done and done! Retailers, take note and stock these movies deep.
Black Romance | West Coast Productions
Why would ebony-centric porn studios not want to offer black consumers
the same sort of love-fueled erotica that’s been all the rage of late? That’s
exactly what West Coast Productions and mainstay director Bishop asked
themselves. Thus, the new Black Romance line was born.
“West Coast and I discussed re-creating something that we had wit-
nessed other studios doing, but creating it for a black audience,” Bishop
explained. “We discussed vignettes versus features, and being a primarily
gonzo company, we decided to go with vignettes. The objective was to
build something people could easily relate to. I had to keep in mind that I
was making something for the ladies as well as the men. So I made sure to
keep the sex hot, but I also added a touch of passion to it as well. It
needed to be fun, yet mature, and I believe I reached that goal.”
Two Black Romance titles have been released so far: Color of Love and
Straight From My Heart. Bishop said the studio plans to release a new
entry every three to four months.
DP Fanatic | Elegant Angel
Butt Face | Belladonna/Evil Angel
Belladonna isn’t one to readily commit to turning any particular concept
into an ongoing series, but in the case of Butt Face (whose first install-
ment garnered a glowing AAAA review in this issue), the newly minted
Hustler Hollywood Walk of Fame inductee is certain there are more meet-
ings of faces and butts to come.
“I had so many people tweet me about that movie,” Bella told AVN. “If
you like ass-eating and ass, then you’re going to be in heaven. Oh my god
... eating ass for that long is just so enjoyable for me. But I listen to a lot
of the fans, and the next one, I’m going to be doing a little bit more ass
play, because on the first one I just focused on literally eating it and play-
ing with it and teasing it rather than spending so much time inside of it.
It was more about the worship of the ass.”
All we can say is, this calls for a little crooning of one of our favorite
Monty Python tunes: “Sit on my face and tell me that you love me...”
Elegant Angel’s new DP Fanatic
line came as a response to feedback
from fans, according to Elegant
Angel General Manager Graham
Travis.
“We got the feedback through
our blog and also through public
forums, like Adult DVD Talk. It
was logical to give the fans what
they were asking for. It’s a very
popular genre right now,” Travis
said. “The idea of delivering a
series with the very best girls doing
double-penetrations excited us.
The trouble with double-penetra-
tion scenes is they’re very expensive, but we’re committed to have the
very best girls to make it as star-packed as possible.”
Travis selected director Grazer to helm the series.
“Grazer has been directing for us for some time, and it’s some-
thing he was really excited about. His directing style lends itself to
the genre,” Travis said. “I’m a fan of Jean-Yves Le Castel and that
European style of shooting that lends itself to DP scenes. He did a
great job.”
The first edition is available now and features Jada Stevens, Asa
Akira, Jynx Maze and Brooklyn Lee, with Erik Everhard, Tony
Ribas, Mick Blue, James Deen and Steve Holmes. Plans call for two
or three releases a year in the series.
