covering the latest trends in pleasure products and adult entertainment
T rade attendees at the annual AVN Show will once again have
the chance to mingle with leading experts in the industry
as well as learn a thing or two, thanks to the always popular
educational seminars.
For the 2020 AVN Novelty Expo, presented by Satisfyer, seminars
will cater to the needs of retailers and manufacturers, as experts
from all aspects of the pleasure products industry will come together
to share ideas and explore solutions to the challenges everyone
faces today. ANE seminars will take place in the mornings, followed
by seminars focused on adult entertainment for attendees of the
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, presented by MyFreeCams.com.
Seminars are open to all registered trade attendees of the AVN
Show. All seminars take place in Festival Room C in Paradise Tower
at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.
Wednesday, January 22
Integrating the Medical Community into Your Marketing Strategies

More and more, the pleasure products industry is focusing just as
much on sexual and physical health as pleasure. Panelists will discuss
how to get doctors and other professionals to refer their patients to
your store and the benefits of that. Stores can team with everyone from
pelvic floor specialists and urologists to pharmacists, practitioners of
alternative medicine and others to benefit their customers’ lives.
Influencers: How to Find Them, How to Connect With Them
and How to Work With Them

One of the biggest mistakes manufacturers and retailers alike make is
not utilizing every resource at their disposal for social media reach. This
seminar will cover how to find the people who will best help connect
your business with fans, and vice versa.
Camera Angles: Rolling Your Own

continues to rise in popularity. And it’s not only established stars who
are rolling their own cameras—it’s also newcomers. Experts will share
their secrets: how to come up with content that builds your brand;
where to promote your scenes; and what steps to take to maximize fan
engagement.

Legal Issues Facing the Industry

This seminar will cover a general overview of laws and legal issues
affecting adult industry right now? Topics will include the following:
• FOSTA/SESTA
• AV status and discussions in the U.K. and Australia
• Data collection and use—GDPR/privacy policies, etc.
• Sex doll restrictions in the U.K.; bill pending in the U.S. House
• Intellectual property
Cultivating Inclusive Retail Spaces
11–11:50 a.m.
Some adult retailers have been examining the science of creating
inclusive retail spaces through education workshop programming.
Inclusivity is totally a buzzword for creating safe spaces for POC and
LGBTQI+ shoppers. But the term is really relevant to everyone who
walk through the doors. In this seminar, panelists will discuss inviting
participation rather than ostracizing misinformation during workshops
and sales interactions.
Consent and Sexualized Leisure at the AVN Expo
1–1:50 p.m.
This panel will explore the ideas of “sexualized leisure” and
“porn tourism.” The panel will comprise a mix of “sexademics” and
performers who will offer scholarly and industry insights on various
topics: 1) the role of the AVN Expo as one of the world’s leading sites
of sexualized leisure/porn tourism; 2) the profile and gender attitudes
of AVN Expo attendees; and 3) how consent is framed, managed and
experienced in interactions between fans and performers.
FSC Presents: Performers—What I Wish I Had Known
2–2:50 p.m.
Top talent from converging segments of the adult industry discuss
what they wish they would’ve known prior to entering the adult
industry. They will offer advice and anecdotes of their first impressions,
first mistakes, and first successes along their career path, sharing insights
with current and hopeful adult performers.
Body Positivity in Porn
3–3:50 p.m.
It takes all types to fulfill the fantasy of porn viewers around the
world. And no single person has a “perfect body,” but it’s the confidence
and body positivity adult performers put on display that keep viewers
coming back for more and creating a more rounded perspective of what
sexy really means.
