“The more info the better,” he said. “We
don’t pretend to have a one person know-it-all
who takes credit for being the sole designer;
it’s very much a group effort.”
At Aneros, the company strives to stay true
to its original mission: creating health devices.
If they find a homes in the pleasure products
marketplace, all the better, Andrews said.
“As in the beginning, we designed our
products to anatomical specifications in order
to achieve harmony between the body and
the physics of movement,” he said. “Whether
used for therapeutic or pleasure purposes our
principles are the same. The result: pleasure
devices that are good for you too!”
As for Doc Johnson, the company tries to
utilize a holistic sort of approach to design.
“We look at what we either deem to be a
gap in the market that needs to be filled, or a
need that our customers (or end consumers)

Nexus—a U.K.-based company that got its start in 2005—has focused on men’s products from the
start, particularly items to stimulate the prostate.

“Prostate health is really important. Prostate inflammation can lead to prostatitis and cancer, and
research has shown that regular massage can keep a healthy prostate healthy,” noted Monique Cary,
managing director for Nexus. “Knowing that, it’s still difficult to market prostate massage to men
in the Western world as a health benefit. However, if you tell them that they will experience the best
orgasm of their life, they suddenly start to listen.
“As men get older and are less sexually active they are more inclined to have prostate issues,”
Carty added. “An inflamed prostate has debilitating effects: chills, fever, penis and scrotum pain,
frequent and difficult urinating, and painful ejaculation. In a worst-case scenario, prostate cancer
occurs. So, if you can prevent these issues with prostate massage and have fun along the way, why
wouldn’t you?”
Through the years, Nexus has created a number of prostate massagers, one of which is sure to
please most everyone.
