electrodes. Using the ClusterBuster, one can have
eight different products all individually controlled
through one remote control. The electrical impulses
can be delivered with 10 levels of intensity and
12 modes or patterns, plus there are five training
programs targeted toward Kegel exercises. And,
the rep points out, “you have a shock button in the
middle where it goes to the highest setting for three
seconds. Or you can press and hold it as long as you
want to punish the person.”
Traveling from the other side of the world was
Liaoyong Baile, a returning exhibitor to AVN
Novelty Expo that manufactures an array of pleasure
products designed for men and women. Veterans
of ANE will be familiar with their line of vibrators,
dildos and strokers branded under the name Pretty
Love.
And with all these companies moving products
around the globe, the services of Shipper’s Advocate
definitely come into play. The company returned to
ANE again this year to meet with potential clients
about the services they can provide. The company—
founded by Doug Carnes, a former corporate
manager for UPS—can help manufacturers and more
save money when it comes to shipping with UPS,
FedEx and DHL.
‘I Have a Dream’
In addition to established manufacturers, the AVN
Novelty Expo always offers a forum for fledgling
companies and toy designers to showcase new
products. Not to be missed was the team from Velvet
Cock, a San Diego-based brand that is marketing
a line of hand-held fucking machines called the
Thruster (TheThruster.com). The powerful motor is
housed in the handle, and the shaft is curved so it
reaches all the right spots. It boasts three inches of
thrust, as well as ten speeds that can produce up to
140 strokes per minute.
Company rep Alex retired from the aerospace
industry, where he had done 3D printing, and
wanted to create a product that competed with
fucking machines. Now he’s offering the Thruster—
close to the size of a dildo with an MSRP that is
below $200. “This will be our flagship version and
we will also have a smaller version,” Alex said.
“We’ve over-engineered this. … It does more than
any other toy on the market. It’s very powerful—it’s
got a battery life of over eight hours.”
EighteenPlus exhibited its technology for use
in pleasure products. The company is capable of
providing manufacturers with the technology to
produce the features of vibration, pulsation and more
they want for their creations, and is currently looking
to work with manufacturers, large and small.
In the busy Erosscia booth, reps displayed the

Allure, a vibrator attachment that can be connected
to a rechargeable toothbrush motor to help induce
“toe-curling orgasms.” The Allure is designed for
clitoral and G-spot stimulation.
Several innovations were created to enhance
that old standby, the cock ring. The Cock Cam, a
returning exhibitor, showed its cock ring with a twist.
The ring—which performs the traditional function
of helping to achieve and maintain erections—has a
camera housed in the casing to take sexual relations
to a new level.
Oivita Creative was at ANE with its ORing, a
smart vibrating cock ring that was funded through
an Indiegogo campaign. The ORing is designed to
enhance the female orgasm experience during use
with its unlimited patterns and ergonomic design.
Visitors to ANE also learned about the features
and functions of the Omega Flex, exhibited at ANE
for the first time and offering a new take on the cock
ring. “We’re just made every other cock ring design
obsolete,” said the company rep, demonstrating
the Omega Flex is an oval shape that is open on the
bottom. “It leaves a lot more room for better sizing
and it doesn’t smash the urethra because it’s open
at the bottom,” the rep said, adding that allows for
enhanced ejaculation.
The Omega Flex has been offered direct to
customers via the company website, Megaflex.biz,
but the team is now looking to do more business
with adult retailers. So far, the rep said, Eldorado
Trading and some other distributors and retailers
had expressed interest. “Having something new to
add to this category is very enticing to the retailers,”
he said. “It’s been a great first show.”
Going Skin Deep
In addition to toys, other product categories
could be found in abundance at ANE. One of the
biggest names was lubricant manufacturer Wet, from
Trigg Laboratories, which showcased its newest
and most popular formulas, including Wet Elite
Femme Hybrid Lubricant. The innovative hybrid
fusion offers the benefits of water- and silicone-
based lubricants, and is specifically designed of a
woman’s body and most delicate areas. The lubricant
is colorless, odorless and is compatible with most
toys. It can be used for solo or couples play, as well
as massage.
Eden Lubricants and Indulge Toys shared a booth
at ANE, with Eden Lubricants exhibiting its silicone-
and water-based lubricants, while Indulge Toys had
its newest cock ring collections on display. The rings,
which come three in a pack, are slightly different
sizes and come in bright colors that are sure to catch
customers’ eyes.
The rep from Eden said his company’s water-
