down the NEXT big
things at this
month’s trade
shows

Just like the aisles of Toys R Us, the booths and tables at
the AVN Novelty Expo reflect the creative efforts of manufacturers to
cater to the changing whims of consumers—and sometimes to
influence those whims. We’re still pretty excited about what
we saw on the floor at the last ANE, which took place in
September, co-located with the International Lingerie
Show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas—and now it’s
time to see the next crop of products devoted to promoting
better sex and relationships for all.
As we eagerly await what’s to come on the show floor at
January’s AVN Novelty Expo, which takes place January 16-18 at
the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, it seemed a good
time to take stock of what’s been selling in the field. And in addition
to ANE, the Adult Novelty Manufacturers Expo will take place January
6-8 in Burbank, Calif., offering the latest from the “big five”
companies—California Exotic Novelties, Doc Johnson, Nasstoys,
Pipedream Products and Topco—and many other manufacturers.
Before all the new toys come rolling in, we talked to some
knowledgeable experts to get their take on some of the recent
trends in the adult toy business. And we also offer a few tips on
where to see some of those trends at our show.
Trends being ... well, trendy, by this time next month we’ll be
marveling over a new set of fresh ideas in pleasure products. And
you’ll hear a lot more about those in issues to come.
