What drew you to study Psychology and Family Studies?
I have always enjoyed the medical field. I wanted to be a
brain surgeon when I was a kid. Then a child psychologist, but
settled on nursing school. Then I actually interned as a nurse…
Not for me. I switched back to the, uhhhh, less bloody side of
things. I am fascinated by the human brain and studying the
family dynamic served as a lens to study the brain through.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about mental health, human rights,
photography, and dogs!
What kind of music is your favorite?
ALL THE MUSIC. I love music. I lean more towards rock, but I
studied jazz and hip-hop in college. Different music is great for
different settings and moods and that’s something that I really
love about it.
What it’s like taking care of ferrets?
Much more high maintenance than I ever anticipated. I love
them as pets but they are more like cats and less like hamsters
and need a lot of attention and play time. I wish more people
knew that before getting them as pets. I had two; now only
one; and their personalities were so different. My girl ferret,
Izzy—who passed last summer—was so sassy! Pancho is very
curious and once found his way inside my kitchen cabinetry.
