“If you have a good base of fans,
you can do whatever.”
For those who may be a bit flummoxed over what to make of this Latina firebrand’s
chatroom handle-esque name—particularly non-Spanish speakers—it’s one she
used long before she ever considered having sex on camera, and it has nothing
to do with chatrooms. Having chosen the name for the alter ego she conceived
about seven years ago as a radio and social media personality in her native
Venezuela, she explains that it’s a combination of “the mermaid” in Spanish—
because she had red hair at the time—and her birthday, June 9.
Holding a degree in marketing, the sultry 29-year-old spice blend (her mother
is Italian and her father Cuban) eased her way into porn gradually during the
three years she lived in Miami before moving to L.A. “For a hobby, I always used
to do shoots like nude or really sexual pictures for fun,” she divulges. “And some
pictures I put on social media, and people start talking in the office, and I can tell
that I lost a lot of work because of [this].”
Growing increasingly intrigued by the prospect of doing full-on porn, especially
after discovering the work of Erika Lust, she decided to take the plunge and come
to L.A. Her first professional shoot was a solo video for FTV Girls, and she also
landed a spot in Penthouse magazine as its January 2019 CyberCutie.
LaSirena reflects, “My goal is to get a lot of fans, and don’t stop creating my
content, but also use that fame for making my own brand. Not only like a porn
site—I want to make my own videos and clothes; I already have stickers.
“Also, I want to study for being a sex therapist,” she adds. “I want to study again,
and I love radio, too; I’m going to start again doing like a podcast on YouTube,
but more about me. … If you have a good base of fans, you can do whatever. It
doesn’t have to be something sexual.”
