Two creative forces collide in this
edgy drama, and the results are
explosive. Sitting in the director’s
seat is BurningAngel’s Joanna
Angel. A scrappy talent who knows
how to get the most out of every
dollar when producing for her own
studio, Angel blossoms here with
the resources of Bree Mills’ Pure
Taboo studio at her disposal.
At the center of the story is the
unsavory relationship between
two step-siblings, acted out with
conviction by Small Hands and
Kenzie Reeves, who live in the
world’s most depressing trailer
park, and Small Hands wants out—
especially after he gets a load of
squeaky-clean Joanna Angel.
The drama is heightened by gritty
cinematography and a moody
soundtrack. It’s clearly a Pure Taboo
production, but Angel’s pop culture
sensibilities add a fresh twist. For
the cinephiles out there, it’s like
watching a mashup of Elia Kazan’s
Baby Doll with a camp classic like
High School Confidential!
