Married womanizer James Deen
discusses his relationship problems
on the phone with a counselor while
flashing back to a surreptitious
encounter with Maya Bijou. A few
days later, Deen checks into a hotel.
“She didn’t kick me out, I left,” he
tells the counselor. “I needed space
to figure shit out.” When asked why
he didn’t tell his wife (Maxim Law)
that he was leaving, he allows, “I
would have told her. We would
have fought. I wasn’t emotionally
prepared for that.”
He’s having trouble sleeping, but
he’s resisting taking the sedatives
the counselor prescribed: “They
give me weird dreams.” But he
takes the pills and is visited in his
dreams by Christiana Cinn. “You’re
not real,” he says. “You died. You
can’t show up here looking like my
mother.”
The story ends on an ambiguous
note as the marital relationship
problems remain unresolved. The
lengthy, solid sex scenes give full
value, supported by credible acting
performances. Recommended—
though maybe not for couples.
