 “I needed a change...”
No, growing up as a closeted gay boy in a small town in Georgia isn’t fun. Just ask Adrian Hart, who was happy to find an escape whenever he could—including his 2011 porn debut, a solo for Randy Blue. But while 2021 marked his 10-year anniversary in the industry, his path has been far from a straight line.
“My first foray was in my early 20s. I was still living in Georgia, and I wasn’t super into porn or my career. I was just kind of doing the scenes for money and to see California and travel and stuff,” he recalls. By 2015, Hart had worked his way up to bigger gigs, getting a handful of scenes with the Falcon family of studios and a Men. com scene when, all of a sudden, he stopped.
“At that point, I guess I was about to move up. I was talking to Lucas (Entertainment) at the time. He wanted to sign me and wanted me to go out to Germany, but I felt very flighty and never like showed up for my flight. So I probably could have been a little bigger than I am now, but it’s fine—I think I needed to take the break to grow and to calm down, because in my 20s I was very wild. And I have a better head on my shoulders now, and can make better decisions.”
During his four-plus years away, Hart—who had moved to Jacksonville in 2013— dabbled in various restaurant jobs, got his yoga instructor certification and came close to becoming a flight attendant. But a move to Los Angeles in 2019 accelerated his career trajectory.
“I was also turning 30, so I needed to do something. I needed a change. When I took a break in my 20s, I didn’t really know if I wanted to continue to do porn...at that time I felt like I didn’t want it ‘haunting’ me or whatever for the rest of my life, so I quit. But then I decided I wanted to get back in the industry. I missed it; it was fun.”
And just like that, he was back on a Men.com set and hasn’t slowed down since.
