“I think it’s just the consistency of staying in good shape and bringing my ‘A’ game every time I go do a scene.”
How in the world is Roman Todd looking better than ever and enjoying the most success of his career nearly 12 years after entering the industry?! “I don’t know—I’m trying to figure that out myself,” he laughs. “Once the pandemic hit, I just sat on PlayStation playing with some of my fellow performer friends...and then I was like, ‘I need to do something different with myself and come back into the industry in better shape and do better scenes.’ And that’s what I tried to do—and stay that way, because I know
I had my body fluctuate a few times throughout my years in the industry. I’ve been in it for a while.”
The studios noticed, and Todd started to get more work than ever before.
“Aspen was going to the gym and doing his thing, and that’s what kind of got me motivated—just going to the gym, really dedicating time to go there, and coming back better than ever once studios started shooting again. That definitely benefitted me, because CockyBoys started working with me, and I started working with Falcon a bunch—I started working with everybody a whole bunch. I don’t think I shot more in any other year than I have (in 2021). I think it’s just the consistency of staying in good shape and bringing my ‘A’ game every time I go do a scene.”
Todd’s journey started in 2010 when, while dancing for a club in Rhode Island, he answered a Craigslist ad that led to his studio debut—and his growth since then has further endeared him to fans.
“A lot of things have changed over the years—being comfortable in my sexuality and knowing that I am what I am and I shouldn’t try to hide anything or be something I’m not,” he says. “The industry didn’t really change me; I was already that way, but I was always hiding it, you know? The fact that I was bisexual, the fact that I had done things with guys when I was younger, the fact that I was interested in guys. All of that was hidden, and now it’s wide open—and I could give two shits about what people think.”
