“I’ve built a very stable following on just the
fact that I’m proud to be effeminate and
I’m proud to be a twink.”
It took Avery Jones a while, but he has finally embraced who he is—and
let the world see it on camera.
“The past year back in the studio has just been me really working hard
on showing a different side of porn, kind of changing the standard a little bit
about how masculinity is not the only thing that is attractive, showing people
that there is a difference in people. I think by me taking these roles with Chi
Chi (LaRue) and doing Falcon and Next Door—these studios that are very
well-known for having these men that are overly muscly and jacked, these
men that are very masculine—was important. Yeah, I was uncomfortable—
but I thought it was very important for me to get over that uncomfortableness
because it would do so much more good in the long run.”
Those insecurities were planted during a challenging childhood grow-
ing up in a small, conservative Midwest town. When his parents struggled
with addiction, Jones was placed in foster care—where he was repeatedly
sexually assaulted.
“I had to work all throughout high school to pay bills and to take care of
my brother and sister, and came out right before my freshman year of high
school,” he says. “I was kind of all over the place and just learning to focus
on who exactly I was as a person.”
The bulk of Jones’ first stint in porn was released in 2017, but he says his
experience was marked by sexual assault and other issues: “It pushed me
into a hiatus,” he says. “And then I finally came back and went with Avery
Jones again—I wanted to take back that pain.”
After two-plus years away, he returned in 2019 with renewed purpose.
“I’ve built a very stable following on just the fact that I’m proud to be ef-
feminate and I’m proud to be a twink. I’m proud of everything that I do both
in porn and outside of porn—whether it’s makeup or it’s drag, or it’s just
being lazy and being myself. I think I’ve shown people that it’s okay to be
proud of who you are, whatever you are,” he says.
Signing as a CockyBoys exclusive in 2020 propelled him to new levels of
confidence: “They actually encourage me to be myself, and in Hollywood
and Vine—which was a really big hit—my character was strictly molded off
my personality, off of who I am as a person. That was really important to me.”
