A new imprint with an old-school
name, Golden Age Films comes out
of the gate with a terrific first movie
written and directed by D.P. Welles
that lives up to its promise to merge
modern-day production values with
the creative plots of classic porn.
Welles’ tale of workplace revenge
mixes the wacky comedy of Nine to
Five with the darker edge of Horrible
Bosses. Dean Phoenix plays Mr.
Hart, a manipulative head honcho
who drives employees Pierce Paris,
Remy Cruze and Max Adoris to
desperation with acts of sexual
harassment and blackmail. And
we get to watch as each twisted
scenario unfolds in flashbacks.
Though all the cast is solid, Cruze
really stands out. We watch his
character agonize over when and
how Mr. Hart will strike, but before
that happens, we get to enjoy Cruze
and Woody Fox in a hot hookup
that sets them up for blackmail. But
Cruze gets his in the last scene,
part of a satisfying revenge scheme
tht frees all of Mr. Hart’s victims.
