She looks back on her own music career, her eyes drifting to the stage where she
will be performing later for a real audience. She is clearly thinking of her music past.
“I have entered contests. I’ve never been picked,” Blake says. “We grew the way a
normal indie band would. Playing at the Troubadour, Roxy, we worked our way up.”
What drew her to music was the need to express herself.
“I’m from a small farm town in Virginia,” she continues. “I transitioned three years
ago; I did it in the middle of the band closing out. Then eleven months later I was on
set. I just didn’t think that I was going to get the opportunity that quickly. I didn’t try to
make this movie. I didn’t try to make the last one. It just kind of happened.”
Lovely last fall created, starred in and directed the coming-of-age feature Once Upon
a TS Summer, which was released by Grooby.
She gets called away to have her stills taken, and I get a chance to sit with co-star
Kyaa Chimera in a different part of the club. We both settle to avoid any spills from
the night before.
“I’ve been in the industry for 18 years. I am 38, turning 40 next year. Just kind of crazy.
I don’t drink; I stay out of the sun and genetics. I can’t control the genetics factor,” she
laughs. Kyaa is excited for her role in this film. “I play the villain, they tell me; the villain
gets defeated in this.” This excites her, and she bounces a little in her seat. “Please
give me a chance at the role to play something that’s not just somebody who’s 100%
in their power,” Kyaa adds. “I start this movie off in power, but then I get defeated, and
then I get screwed over, quite literally.”
She laughs. ”My goal in the next few years is to get to perform more and have more
roles like this and not just the edgy, baddie MILF Dom that I already am because that’s
not really acting for me.”
The all-star cast for No One Walks In Clean also includes Aubrey Kate, Jade Venus,
Leilani Lei, Eva Maxim, Ariel Demure, Avery Lust, and Silas Stone.
I get some time with Eli before shooting starts. He is a multiple AVN award-winning
director and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. With that talent, he approaches
this movie as he would any other. “I’m not making it as a trans movie,” Cross says. “I’m
making it as a movie. I also might be shooting softcore. We are actually deciding.” While
we talk, I can see him looking over the set and deciding his shots. “I’m approaching
it differently in that the girls are way more invested,” he continues.
“Everybody’s here to work and knows what they’re doing.” I follow his eyes and have
to admire that this is one of the most professional and organized sets I’ve ever seen.
With that, Marc Kramer, the fellow Hall of Fame production manager & producer also
known as Brah Bones, joins us to check the time. They have a tight schedule, and Eli
is thrilled if Kramer can push the extras for the live music scene back about fifteen
minutes. Seems he can push them back thirty.
“You are a golden god,” Eli smiles and bows his head in reverence. Kramer laughs.
No One Walks In Clean will be coming this fall.
