“So they were in search of a guy who is well endowed with a good personality and
it was like, ‘If you think you got what it takes, send us some pictures,’” Dredd says.
“And I was just listening to it and it clicked that this is my shot. I was in my late 30s
at the time—better late than never. So I took a few pictures and sent them in and
they called me the next day and said we’ll fly you out here to LA and see how you
do in front of a camera.”
But Dredd had second thoughts and decided to turn down the offer. They kept
calling him anyway.
Eventually, he did a brief stint as Blackzilla for Hush Hush following the departure
of Shane Diesel; the studio later changed the name of the character to Darkzilla.
“That was the start of it, around 2009, but I wasn’t ready at that time,” Dredd
admits. “It turned out to be a lot harder than I thought and I only shot a handful of
scenes and then went away.”
While he was inactive from adult performing from 2010-14, he became involved
in the swingers scene, going to various clubs and lifestyle parties where he’d often
have sex in front of a group of people.
By 2015, a girl he knew told him she was making a lot of money webcamming and
encouraged him to re-enter adult entertainment.
“I said no, that ship sailed, it’s not for me. But she kept twisting my arm and twisting
my arm,” Dredd says.
She even persuaded him to start his Twitter page—and in 2015 Dredd re-
connected with the same guys at Hush Hush.
“I was way more comfortable this time and it was lot of easier and a lot more fun,”
he says. “I thought now I can make a run out of this.
“One thing just led to another and from there I shot two scenes for Dogfart.”
One of those scenes was with India Summer, who then referred Dredd to Francesca
Le and Mark Wood and their studio, LeWood Productions, which is distributed by
Evil Angel.
Dredd performed with LeWood for about eight months and then got a call from
Jules Jordan that changed his career trajectory forever.
Jordan and Dredd became a winning team from the start and went on to create
nine volumes of Dredd’s namesake series, Dredd; four volumes of Dredd Up Your
Ass; two volumes each of Dredd’s Devastation and Dredd’s Teen Devastation; and
titles such as Dredd v. MILF, Dredd’s Big Booties and Dredd: Big Dick Energy.
“I was very familiar with Jules and the work he did with Lex [Steele] and Mandingo,”
Dredd recalls.
“...I really liked his approach—just look at my resume. And for seven years we just
shot some outstanding stuff.”
Dredd adds, “At the beginning of shooting for Jules I also shot for Greg Lansky
and Blacked. I did maybe 20 scenes with them and then I stopped and shot strictly
with Jules.”
Now the next chapter of Dredd’s XXX journey is underway.
