For fans who enjoy things that go bump in the night, Pure Taboo’s short-lived Under
The Bed series is being brought back to life.
Launched in 2019, the sci-fi/horror-themed title featured sexy-spooky vignettes by
top directors with all-star casts in a pair of episodes, before the pandemic stalled
the series’ run. Now, Adult Time’s Creative Director Bree Mills returns to work her
movie magic in a new episode titled, “House of Silk.”
Starring adult actress August Skye and featuring actors Codey Steele and Josh
Rivers; the modern horror story centers around a neglected, overlooked housewife
who is bitten by a spider. Her husband, played by Steele, and young neighbor
(Rivers) then are drawn into her web of drama as Skye begins to crave more and
more attention—among other things.
“I’m a huge horror fan and I’ve always wanted to do something along these lines.
Horror and sex go together like peanut butter and jelly, so I went all in playing this
character,” Skye told AVN about playing the lead. “The prosthetics were delicate
and took time. There were so many fine details that went into transforming me, but
once I saw the final product, I was completely immersed in my role.”
“The transformation was so much fun,” the starlet described. “It starts off as
something scary but then you’re drawn in by the sensuality and the fear. It’s one of
those moments where you think to yourself, like, ‘I shouldn’t be turned on by this but
yet here I am completely aroused.’”
Skye said the character’s transformation process used prosthetic make-up that was
applied gradually over the two-day shoot and then would require an additional 45
minutes to an hour to remove. “Makeup was a process, from molding the prosthetics
and getting fitted beforehand... to taking everything off properly. Gabe, the special
effects artist, is very talented and knew exactly what needed to be done quickly, but
very thoroughly,” she said.
