“I think it’s fun to play those characters, with like step-daddies or my boss...”
Selina Imai is almost brand new to the business. The 19-year-old brunette beauty serves up bratty step-sister vibes in a handful of clips for content platforms Team Skeet, Cherry Pimps, and Nubiles, among others.
“For me, I just wanted to try it because I had been camming since I was 18 and I wanted to do porn by the time I was 19—I know that’s kind of dumb, but I made it a goal. I kind of knew before I was 18 that I wanted to do it, so I made a plan.”
After stints on OnlyFans and camming, Imai began performing in scenes in December, after signing with East Coast Talent. Her first scene was for Exploited College Girls, and she admits to having a pretty bad case of stage fright.
“I was very scared to do it,” Imai told AVN. “Afterwards, I felt more confident because you don’t know what to expect. It actually was pretty good, and as time has gone on, I’ve become more confident in front of the camera and playing different characters.”
She continues, “I’m kind of more shy in real life, so it was more me getting over my social anxieties. Me being shy growing up, it was a change for me to learn how to be more outward about my personality, and my persona on camera. Now, I feel more comfortable in my own skin, and just being around people and conversing is easier for me now than it was before.”
Imai finds the newfound attention from fans very flattering and explained that she hadn’t had much of that kind of attention before blossoming on screen. On set, she’s getting used to the idea that her job now gives her access to an exclusive pool of male performers.
“When you don’t have that in real life and you go into a profession where that’s basically the whole job, it’s pretty nice,” she says. “The guys have been pretty nice to me and I don’t think I’ve had any issues with anyone so far, surprisingly. Everyone has been really nice to me and chill.”
Of course, she gets cast in a lot of step-daughter or schoolgirl roles, and she said, “I think it’s fun to play those characters, with like step-daddies or my boss, or whatever. I love that.”
“I haven’t done anal yet or gangbangs, but I’d like to do that in the future,” Imai
intimated, but she’s holding back since she hasn’t done either in real life. For now, she’d like to work for more companies, making note of Vixen.
In the meantime, she had a scene drop at the end of July from Evil Angel’s Hookup Hotshot series, directed by Brian Gozzling.
“The people I have worked with have been great to me and I haven’t got to work with a lot of people, but I’m getting more familiar with the industry,” she said, noting that in January, she will attend her first AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
There are a lot of firsts ahead for Selina Imai.
