Vanna Bardot tells me her encounter with Liz Jordan that won the 2024 AVN Award for Best Girl/Girl Sex Scene almost didn’t get released.
The 2024 AVN Female Performer of the Year reveals it was the first scene she shot for Slayed following the exclusive contract she signed in September 2022.
Under the direction of AVN Hall of Famer Laurent Sky, Bardot tangled with Jordan at a gym in Woodland Hills, Calif., in the scene titled “Punch.”
“And I wasn’t feeling very good that day,” Vanna admits. “I shouldn’t have come to set, honestly. I should’ve cancelled.”
But she didn’t want to let anyone down, especially since it was the first scene of her new deal and at a special location rented out by Vixen Media Group for the day.
“I knew that I was so not OK when we were doing makeup because everybody was super hot and I was freezing,” Vanna says. “I was like wrapped in blankets.”
When they finished the sex, Sky transitioned to what he calls “macro shots”—or extreme close-up, still photos.
“And we did this one macro position and I had to get up and go to the bathroom and I threw up,” Bardot recalls.
She drove home still covered in oil and took her temperature. It read 103.
“I started panicking,” Vanna recalls. “And [my boyfriend Codey Steele] wasn’t home. But I was able to calm myself and get some ice bags and my fever went down. But I did go to the ER the next day because the fever came back.
“I had a kidney infection. ... They almost didn’t publish the scene because they didn’t get everything they needed. [VMG co-owner and executive producer Mike] Miller was like, ‘We’re trying to edit this scene. What do you think, should we publish it?’”
