“I think it’s a unique opportunity because what’s funny is that the numbers don’t lie— the content sells.”
Ariel Demure is having a good year so far. Accolades are raining down like dollars used to when she was a dancer, before transitioning into herself as an alluring porn star. She thinks Gen Z doesn’t go to strip clubs like previous generations did, back in the day.
“I had a great time,” Demure told AVN. “I loved dancing. I met so many cool people, but also, it was an older generation of people that I was interacting with. I was learning. It was an opportunity for me to grow as a human.”
Demure laughs and calls herself a “pandemic performer”—one of those affected by social protocols shutting down regular work, who started performing in scenes during the long months of the lockdown.
“My first scene was shot in August and came out in January 2021, and from that point—I don’t know why—but I had like a good upwards trajectory, and it just kind of grew and grew. It’s been going really well.”
In 2023, Demure was adult streaming platform AEBN’s most streamed trans performer, in addition to several awards from major trade publications and organizations. At the 2024 Trans Erotica Awards in March, she took home the Fan Favorite trophy, following up on last year’s win for TEA Hardcore Performer of the Year. Demure is on the forefront of transgender performers and the trans community who are receiving increased attention and, while still evolving, the interest in transgender content is definitely on an upward trend.
“I’m so grateful for the recognition that we’ve been getting and I feel like there has been a lot of growth,” she observed. “I think we’re in a very interesting flux, in an interesting time.
