Eva Nyx taught special education during her senior year in her home state of Washington, but while she found it rewarding, she wanted something more.
“And the school year ended and I moved to California and needed to do something different,” explains Nyx, who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Sociology. “While I did enjoy teaching, it was really emotionally taxing.
“I just needed some change in my life. ... I needed to branch out and do something fun for myself.”
Nyx tells AVN she always had an interest in the adult industry “from all angles.” So she started doing her research on the industry and learning about the possibilities, intrigued by the performers she was following.
“I liked their success on and off the internet—as much I could understand from a fan point of view—and I felt like I had similar confidence,” Eva explains. “As far as I knew these girls seemed happy and they’re making a lot of money. And I thought that I’ve been working this regular teaching job for a full year now—I love it but I hate it.”
She reached out to Hussie Models and within two days of moving to the Bay Area in November, she was booked for a shoot with NetVideoGirls in Los Angeles.
“It all happened pretty fast,” she says. “My first shoot went really well and they hired me for another two days. They shot me two more times.
“I got the hang of it pretty fast.”
Did she ever.
Not long after that, she went to Miami, acing her scenes there. Then she said to herself, “Alright,
I can do this.”
“I was just really excited because it was something I’d never done before,” Nyx says. “And the
people you meet in the industry, there’s all different types of characters.
“I’ve been introduced to such passionate people in the industry, which I had never experienced
in my life before.”
Nyx says when it came to her first shoot she wasn’t nervous at all.
“I was super excited to be there. I was just really ready,” Eva says. “Honestly, I feel like teaching
and being in front of people listening to you all the time is similar to being in front of a camera in a way.”
She estimates she’s done about 25 scenes so far, even though the majority have yet to be released. Among the studios who already have captured Nyx are Reality Kings, Team Skeet, Wankz, Brazzers, Bang!, Naughty America. Lethal Hardcore, CherryPimps and SexLikeReal.
Nyx says now she has learned the industry is “a lot bigger and more detailed than I had ever realized.”
