She drizzled warm chocolate over crepes at breakfast and prepared chicken wrapped in phyllo dough at lunch. And whenever Lumi Ray roasted duck for dinner, customers often remarked that it came out juuusssttt right.
For seven years, Ray ran kitchens at high-end French restaurants throughout northern California, with her last gig coming at The Grove at Copia in Napa, where she reported to work each day in a “big, bulky chef’s coat.”
Ray smiles.
“No one ever realized,” she says, “what I was hiding underneath.”
Ray finally gave everyone a peek in February when she entered the adult industry. And goodness
gracious, what a sight it was to behold. With 34D breasts, a chiseled stomach and the backside of a bikini model, Ray’s all-natural physique has created quite the buzz among top directors and male talent, who are keeping Ray’s schedule filled with studio bookings and content shoots.
“We all generally agree that she has the greatest body, like ... ever,” veteran director Mike Quasar says. “It’s absurd.”
Still, the appeal for the auburn-haired Ray extends far beyond her physical appearance. At 26, Ray’s life experiences helped mold a work ethic and discipline that enables her to stand out in a talent pool filled with younger, often immature performers.
It’s a trait that helped Ray score a lead role alongside Seth Gamble in Wicked’s soon-to-be- released feature Pina Colada. And shooting wrapped this month on Lust Cinema’s Blind Date, a Casey Calvert-led project that showcases Ray as the main character.
“She did amazing,” Calvert says. “Lumi is not an impressionable 18-year-old who is coming into this business still trying to figure out who she is. She’s an adult who has already had an eventful life. She has made the decision to be here. She knows what she wants and she knows what she likes. It’s very refreshing.”
Less than a year into her adult career, Ray is having too much fun to miss her days in restaurant kitchens—although she says she’d be more than willing to bake some French pastries on a porn set.
“Being on a set is a lot like being in a kitchen,” she says. “You’ve got your camera guy, your makeup artist, your male talent. Everyone is there for a specific purpose, and everyone needs each other for it to be successful. It’s a rush when it all comes together—just like it is at the end of a long night at a restaurant.
“Both jobs are very fulfilling, just in different ways.”
