Romero reveals it took approximately 20 hours of pre-production, 36 hours of filming and about 550 hours of post production to bring the scene to life.
“I cannot thank the two teams enough that worked excessively on the post-production,” says Romero, who launched Hentaied in 2020 with a small, but dedicated crew. “The CGI team took two weeks to create the monster and another two weeks to rig it—and again one month to incorporate it into the scene. One member of the same team worked solely on the 2D cartoon and it took her about two weeks to finish.
“The 3D animation of the cut-off view of the internal organ took the team three months of half-time work.”
Romero says he already has received a wide range of feedback on the scene.
“The feedback was contrasted; we received quite some complaints in the comments section. Certain customers had very high expectations; others found the animation unnecessary. It’s hard to please everyone,” Romero reasons. “But after all, the sales speak more than everything. It quickly became our No. 1 top seller on the website and remains in its position til today.”
The Hentaied boss experimented with offering an NFT as a perk within the top-tier packages of the crowdfunding campaign for each scene.
The NFT package includes Hentaied t-shirts and sweatshirts that are coming this summer and Hentaied gin, which is set for delivery in early 2023. The forward-thinking Romero says he pays close attention to how new technologies are going to shape society, impact the adult industry and his work. He notes the initial NFT offering is “a dip in the water” and there will be more side projects like this in the future.
