Born and raised in Hong Kong, Viva Athena
came to the U.S. at 14 and went to college in
Iowa, where she’s lived for the past six years.
But she’s been commuting to Los Angeles for
porn work since late last year. “I did camming
on and off when I was 18. And then early this
year I got Pornhub and XVideos accounts
and started uploading videos of me and my
husband.” (They have an open marriage.)
“Then I thought, hmmm, I’m kind of interested
in mainstream porn, I’d like to try that, it looks
like fun.”
Away from the camera she loves doing
origami. “I’m also a graphic designer. I do a lot
of graphics work. I’m also working for friends
who are starting out their business, figuring out
brand names, designing their packages.”
Why porn? “I love sex, I love coming, that’s
the first thing. I appreciate it because it’s
performance art. It is a performance you’re
putting on.” Sounds like she wants to keep
doing it. “Right. Until I can’t.”
