I miss you. Can you see me waving from England?
Just like every year, the AVN Show was a great
opportunity to hatch plans, to do business, and to
see old friends. People on the outside of the industry
sometimes find it hard to believe that this annual
convention in Las Vegas is like a family reunion.
Whether you’ve been working in this business since
the 1970s or you’re a barely-legal cam teen from
Indiana, there’s a special bond and sense of humor
that many people in the adult business share, and
those several days in Vegas every year are a fun
(and exhausting!) time to catch up.
So that’s why, in retrospect, the global
pandemic, which was brewing even then but
broke in February, makes us look at all that Vegas
footage we shot with real nostalgia. “Just look at
how close we were all standing! I could put my
face in Natalia Starr’s boobs without having to
wear a mask!”
Gazzman and I live in a little village near London. If
you’ve ever seen little U.K. villages, like in Hot Fuzz or
Harry Potter or The Wicker Man (actually, our village is
a lot like the one in The Wicker Man), you get the idea.
The pandemic hit us the way it hit you, and when I go
to the chemist’s (which is what you call a drugstore),
I’m basically wearing full body armor.
I grew up in New York City, so when I hear someone
say, “I’m popping down to the tobacconist’s for fags,”
there’s part of me that still says, “You go, girl!”
Like many people in our business, we have banked
a lot of material. In addition to the footage we shot
in L.A. and Vegas in January, we’ve got dozens of
scenes that, in light of the quarantine, look more like
fantasies than before.
Gazzman and I are wishing you the best
wherever you are holing up. Come and visit our site,
ScarlettRevell.com, to see what we’re up to when
there isn’t a bug going around.
