NOTE
As I write this we are months into the L.A. County Safer at Home Order—better
known as “the lockdown”—to do our part to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
We’re fortunate here at AVN Media Network to still be in a position to bring you
the June issue of our magazine as we work from our homes, while so many millions
across the country are not working at all.
Our industry is far from immune to these hardships. When Free Speech Coalition
called for a voluntary production shutdown in mid-March the stoppage immediately
affected the livelihoods of thousands of professionals.
Some top studio brands have stepped up in recent weeks, offering performers
creative ways to earn money while in isolation. Still thousands of entertainers have
pivoted toward cam sites and DIY content platforms. Our adult-friendly AVN Stars
platform has seen an enormous spike in content creator sign-ups and users.
We’re also grateful that construction for the Virgin Hotel—the new home of the AVN
Adult Entertainment Expo and AVN Awards starting in January—was one of only a
few projects in Las Vegas that was allowed to continue during this crisis. Timelines for
completing the renovation this fall continue to be on schedule.
Speaking of staying on track, 2017 AVN Female Performer of the Year Adriana
Chechik has done just that as she enters her eighth year in adult. We hope you enjoy
