“I want to make like a weird,
surrealist set. ... There’s room on
the internet for that shit.”
The most common remark Evelyn Claire hears on sets,
she bemoans, is: “You’re really white. You’re really pale.”
In her smirky but delicate Pacific Northwest timbre, she
continues, “I swear to god, every single time I walk on
set. It’s getting ridiculous.”
Be that as it may, her milky complexion made her a
natural fit for Greg Lansky’s Blacked imprint, and the
triple-X impresario recruited her to shoot her first porn
scenes for both Blacked and sister label Vixen.
At the time, Claire was working as a cam model on
Chaturbate and other sites, something she continues to
do, but as soon as her debut adult video work hit, people
sat up and took notice—including reigning AVN Director
of the Year Kayden Kross, who cast her in Trashy Love
Story and The Female of the Species (both Trenchcoatx).
Still, Claire wasn’t sure how full-force she wanted to go
into the studio porn world. During this year’s AVN Expo,
mega-agent Mark Spiegler told her that if she moved to
L.A. full time, he would represent her. On April 13, “which
is also my cammiversary,” Claire joined Spiegler Girls.
When she’s not busy shooting, Claire divides her time
between being online—either camming or broadcasting
on Twitch—and creating art … oftentimes doing both
simultaneously. “On Twitch I like to do painting shows or
art shows of just crafting something,” she says.
Eventually, Claire hopes to parlay her auteurist
inclinations into directing. “I gotta do that,” she enthuses.
“I want to design every little fucking thing about it. I want
to make like a weird, surrealist set, where it’s just like,
‘What the fuck is going on?’ There’s room on the internet
for that shit. So fuck it. It might not be what sells or what’s
popular, but I’m gonna learn what sells and what’s
popular from working for all these other companies.”
The wheels are turning with this one, you can sense.
And she has no intention of slowing those wheels down
at any foreseeable point.
