was excited that I would have
something of my own to write, but I didn’t
really have any ideas. My boyfriend
works in law—there are some legal
jokes in there that nobody else will get—
and he’s into creative writing, so for him
working on it was fun. The hardest thing
is fitting five sex scenes into a movie so
it makes sense, is interesting, and has
a reason for five sex scenes. It’s really,
really difficult. Like, insanely difficult.”
Randall admits she’s conferred with
Wicked regular Mike Quasar, calling
him “constantly. Hardcore and softcore?
I never shoot that stuff. Condoms? I
never shoot that. Do we talk about the
condom going on? Is it Magic Condom?
There’s all these things that I don’t
know about. I’ve been shooting web
scenes.”
Today’s scene is a surreptitious
quickie tryst with Eliza Ibarra (pictured
on the previous page) and Lucas
Frost. As the techs set up lights, Frost
strolls in, asks Ibarra if she wants to
run lines. They read the script from
their cell phones, not looking at each
other. Randall does a last-minute trim
on dialogue, spotting a plot hole that
could cause trouble later. They head
to the small bedroom for stills. Ibarra,
on her knees, fluffs Frost, her slurping
sounds echoing through the room.
“It’s pretty simple,” Randall tells Frost
and Ibarra, re-dressed and ready
to shoot the sex for video. “I’m not
gonna tell you how to do your job.”
Randall is using a micro-crew,
only two camera guys wielding
small 35mm-looking cameras,
one with a long bazooka-like lens,
one with a halo light. Randall is
running sound and operating the
slate as well as directing. CLACK!
“Annnd — Action!”
Randall’s Wicked Pictures debut
arrives in stores March 13. The
cast also includes Jane Wilde,
Bridgette B., Alison Rey (above,
left to right), Seth Gamble, Derrick
Pierce and Codey Steele.
