Tana Lea
‘Everything kind of fell into place’
Tana Lea thinks of herself as entering porn “in reverse.” That’s because
“I’ve been selling my own stuff online for about three years.” First through
Snapchat, and then on her own website through Only Fans. “I’ve kind of
built my fan base. My fans are loyal, they’ve been with me.”
She didn’t start working on sets until April 2017. “I went to AVN [in
January], met with a few people, talked to some other porn star girls.
They were relatable but like pros in the business ... and they kind of
helped me answer questions about porn. And from there everything
kind of fell into place.”
Caldwell, Texas, her hometown, is “in between College Station
and Houston. Real country town, not a lot goin’ on. I left when I
was 23, after I got divorced. I did the whole married thing,
hometown thing, worked at a prison there, the whole
shebang, had a husband, got divorced. And then I
moved to Austin, Texas, in 2013. And then from there I
moved to L.A.”
She says she never watched porn before she got into
it. “So I never had heard of anyone. The only people
I heard of were Xander [Corvus] and James Deen cuz
they’re the most talked about, normal people, pretty
average American guys that you might pick up at the
bar. So I heard about them, and then my first scene was

ever! So I’m pretty spoiled since then.”
She has shot for a variety of companies: Kelly

‘I’m a die-hard, go-hard kind of girl.’
Kat Monroe chose her name because “at a young age I was compared to
a feline. I was very jittery, very fun, very fast, but very picky and a little
bit bitchy sometimes. Monroe came from a book I’m writing, a fictional
biography of my life. My character’s name is Mia Monroe Lockwood. The middle
name caught my eye when I had to choose my porn name.”
She never watched porn until she got into the industry, she says, but “I grew up
reading it. When I hit 15 and I lost my virginity, I was reading Nora Roberts books.
I never slept around, was serially monogamous. Never had a serious drive for
sex but I loved it. Then I got into a relationship that wasn’t working, I was doing
mainstream modeling, then private modeling, then lingerie, then nudity. I was
never ashamed, I find the human body amazing. I was recruited by 360 Modeling
and I was scared, but I decided that saying no to an opportunity like this would
make me feel stupid. I took it, came to L.A. for 10 days— and I’m
still here.”

Angel, Zero Tolerance. “I did a girl/girl scene before I came up here. With Savana
Styles. It was me, her and Brad Knight. Two redheads and Brad.”
Her favorite pastimes are “watching shitty reality TV” (Teen Mom and The Bachelor
are among her faves), eating—and man-eating. “I like to go out on dates with
guys. I have less sex now that I’m in porn than before, but I do go on more
dates ... It’s a week straight with love and then I’m kind of over it and on
to another thing. So all my friends say I’m a man-eater.”
She’s got over “30-something” tattoos, mostly on her arms and left
leg. “I started off getting the traditional black and white scripts, then
when I moved to Austin that’s where I started noticing color and the
traditional stuff, and I started building from there. Nothing on my
chest. I don’t want to take away from my boobs.”
Tana revealed, “I’m naturally blonde. Which is really weird cuz I
have dark eyebrows, but I’m naturally dirty blonde. I’ve been blonde,
I’ve been purple. But red is my favorite cuz red is a hard color to
pull off. I have like orange-y skin tones so the red goes with it
good.”
She maintains a home in Austin where she cools down after
working in Porn Valley. “L.A. is the place I get things done, Austin
is the leisurely relaxed place.”
She feels right at home in the XXX industry. “It’s different.
Every day’s different, different places, different people, for the most
part. Different scenes. Different dicks. Usually I go home, shower,
eat and go to sleep. It’s like a pretty fulfilling day.”

Monroe went to school as a veterinary technician and still takes a business
attitude to her work. “The joy of it is you get to have sex, you get to have fun, but
the business side is you have to take care of your body, you have to manage your
money, you have to know how to network and portray yourself to the world. You
can come off looking bad and trashy, or you can look successful, which people don’t
think happens from porn. But it happens. There are two paths you can take in
the adult industry: there’s the path where the girls drop out, and there’s the path
where you see them on the cover of Hustler.”
In January, she attended AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, and “It was different.
It was hard to come back to reality at the end. The people come from around the
world and they know you—and I was only in for two months at the time. I was
always all about entertainment, and to be doing it was really cool.”
She thinks her best scenes so far are an anal scene with Mike Adriano in Rectal
Workout 3 and a then-unreleased scene with Mark Wood she called “It’s On My
Phone” but was released on the DVD Anal Young ’uns 6. She says, “I love BDSM. I
love anal. I love dirty, sloppy blowjobs. I want to work with Bryan Gozzling. I watch
him on Snapchat all the time and I watch him fuck those girls and I love that.”
Her 13 tattoos include a tribute to her Irish heritage and tribal animal symbols.
“You have to live life to the fullest because you’re going to die whether you want to
or not. I never give up. Everybody’s given up on something. I’m a die-hard, go-hard
kind of girl. I put everything into everything, and that’s what I’ve done with porn.”
