Klein, who has been with Impulse for about a year, and
newcomer Maria Sandoval, who is bilingual and can assist
Spanish-speaking clients. Klein was excited about one
thing in particular: a full array of products in the popular
Amie line of “tiny but mighty” vibrators. She noted that
the battery-operated vibes—available in bright pink,
turquoise and deep purple—have been “selling like crazy.”
The ball-like handle rests comfortably in the hand, the the
petite size makes them great for travel. “We have yet to
keep it on the shelves. It keeps getting blown out,” Klein
said.
The exhibit tent, located outside with a covered
walkway set up to shield attendees from the rain, were
many other exhibitors, including LELO. Attendees were
eager to get their hands on LELO’s new Sona, a sonic
massager that stimulates 75 percent more of the clitoris—
without actually touching it—for a feeling that could
change lives, one orgasm at a time. The Sona series has
two versions, one featuring a unique new Cruise Control
technology that maintains exactly the power you choose
no matter how firmly its pressed against your body.
Instead of vibration, which focuses attention on the
external nerve endings, Sona uses sonic pulses that
resonate deep in the internal structure of the clitoris.
Additionally, company reps also introduced Bordeaux &
Chocolat scented candles, the Postura Sex Ramp and rose-
shaped bath petals.
New in the Kama Sutra booth were Erotic Play Sets.
These limited edition sets each feature a small BDSM toy,
along with a few Kama Sutra products, such as Honey
Dust or Oil of Love. The kits are available as Arouse
Me, Surprise Me, Feel Me and Trust Me. The sets also
come with play cards inside that suggest various sexual
positions compatible with the included items.
Gearing up for a busy 2018, Lovehoney’s sales team
introduced two new ranges and additions to current
collections at ANME. New to the Coco de Mer Pleasure
Collection is an assortment of bondage gear, including
floggers, wrist cuffs, blindfold and leather leads. The
team also showed the Uprize dildo collection. These dildo
appear flaccid but become erect when users push a button.
Other exhibitors were situated in the City Ballroom, off
the main lobby at the Marriott. The first to catch the eye
was Wicked Sensual Care—partly because Wicked contract
star Jessica Drake was in attendance. Marketing wizard
Carrie Smith was there as well, talking up the benefits of
two new products: Jelle Chill and Jelle Heat. Both anal
lubricants, they offer cooling and heating sensations—but
Smith quickly assured that the effects are not as strong
as in the intense Ultra heating and warming lubricants.
“Red clover creates the heat in Jelle Heat,” she explained,
noting that it also acts as an antispasmodic. “It’s the most
gentle heating product from Wicked.” Like the original
Jelle, it’s a thicker water-based lubricant that really stays
put. Both products will ship in February.
Next to Wicked was a second booth for Xgen Products,
featuring various lines available from the distributor.
Current designs from Ovo Lifestyle Toys were displayed
on the wall, while most of the space was dedicated to
Baci Lingerie’s White Label Collection and Envy men’s
undergarments. And rep Michael Lerner proudly pointed
out the licensed superhero-themed undies, including
something new: a perky pair of panties adorned with
cartoon drawings of Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Supergirl
and equipped with colorful garters.
Other big booths in the Ballroom included NS
Novelties, showing, among many other offerings, its new
Inya line, the Shi/Shi Sugar/Sugar (a followup to the Shi/
Shi Union, “created by her, for her”). And there were
new items in the popular Firefly glow-in-the-dark range,
including the Firefly Halo cock ring and the Firefly Rise
cockring/ballring. New anal plugs coming soon from
the company include Mojis—anal plugs with the #ILY,
#OMG and #WTF emojis in the base—and Oinkz, tapered
silicone pleasure plugs topped by a squiggly 8-inch pig
tail.
In the Evolved Novelties exhibit space, the latest
development was splashed across one of the biggest
banners at the show. “We’re gonna need a bigger booth,”
the headline read, promoting the Infinite Thrusting Sex
Machine. The pleasure toy features a white handle topped
by a deep purple shaft that thrusts in and out, quietly and
smoothly, to double the penetration of the shaft.
Next door was System JO, which again was offering
chair massages to grateful attendees. With attractive
POS displays and pop-up banners—which company rep
Natalie Wilburn says are available to retailers—the display
plugged an enhanced formula for the 12Volt clitoral
stimulant and the PROlonger Spray for men, which offers
a maximum-strength dosage of lidocaine to prevent
premature ejaculation.
System JO is also testing out a lube with a new cotton
candy flavor, and showing prototypes of some bath bombs
in the DONA by JO line, which will be coming out in July.
“I think 2018 is going to be our year for new production,”
Wilburn said.
The show will return in July to the Marriott Burbank
Airport. For details, visit ANMEFounders.com.
