This month, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, AVN features Cybersocket
of ColbyKnox.com. During their time together in gay adult
entertainment, the sexy and creative couple has performed more
than 3,000 live webcam shows and been involved in more than 200 video
scenes. When Colby and Mickey started out, all they had to work with was
a webcam and a laptop. Since then, they’ve parlayed their webcam success
into a successful independent production company that now rivals some of
the biggest names in the business. Still just 26 and 27 years old respectively
and now married, Colby and Mickey have already made a significant mark in
adult entertainment, so we can’t wait to see what they’ll do next. For more

How did you each get started in the adult industry?
COLBY: It’s something I had always been drawn to. Porn played a big part
in the early stages of me coming out and becoming comfortable with who I
am. It wasn’t just the sex. It was the beautiful and confident men, doing what
I was scared to do, and being loved for it. I started webcamming about eight
years ago and I guess you could say that’s what really put me on the path.
MICKEY: Colby is definitely what got me into the adult industry. I was
working in a restaurant when we first started to date and Colby was a webcam
model. I would come home after a long shift and talk to him about his day.
He had all these awesome stories about having fun online and hanging out
with his friends. So after watching for a few weeks I decided to join him
online. After that first show together I was hooked.
How did the two of you originally meet?
COLBY: Mickey and I met about seven years ago when we were both working
as waiters at Red Lobster. He wasn’t out yet and I was. I used to follow him

around the restaurant and take iPhone pics of his butt when he would bus his
tables. [Laughs] Shameless stalker. We have been together for five years now
and we just celebrated our six-month wedding anniversary on July 21, 2017. I
thought I wasn’t compatible with relationships for the longest time, but I just
needed to be more patient, and I’ve never been happier.
MICKEY: Colby is my everything. We’re happily married and I can’t wait to
spend the rest of my life with him. Colby gave me the confidence to come out.
That really did change my life. I was shy and in the closet, and I had never
told anyone my true feelings until I told Colby. I was so nervous that I had to
write it down on a piece of paper and give it to him. He still has that piece of
paper today.
What’s it like to do a video shoot for Colby Knox?
COLBY: We try to create an environment that allows the models to forget the
cameras are there and just have fun. Even our more story-based scenes aren’t
scripted. It’s all all improv. We set the scenario and let the models react and
respond to it as naturally as possible. I find our shoots usually have a very casual
fun feel to them. It’s like a few friends working together to make something
beautiful.
MICKEY: Working for ColbyKnox is so much fun. As a director and videographer
we try to make everything as fun as possible. Too many studios out there zap the
pleasure out of porn shoots. They will have a job to do and just want to get it
done so that they can go home. Here at ColbyKnox we’re already home. Models
usually stay in one of our guest rooms. They eat with us and watch TV with us.
We actually take the time to get to know each and every model during their visit
here. Then after getting to know them we create a scene that is tailored to fit their
personality. We like to know what turns each model on, and also what they don’t
like to do. Then we use that information to plan out the next day. We want the
models to be happy and to have fun doing what we ask of them.
Are there any other models who you’d especially like to work with?
COLBY: Well since you mention it … [Laughs] Ashton Summers, Evan Parker
and Tyler Hill, Johnny Rapid, and I’m still holding out hope to do something with
Brent Everett one day (It’s a porn crush from way back.)
MICKEY: [LAUGHS.] Ummm, yeah… Pretty much all of the Bel Ami boys. They
are so tall and fit. Plus the accents are something that I very much enjoy. Kevin
Warhol is my favorite.
Are there any down sides to working in adult entertainment?
COLBY: Egos and politics. People seem to let this business go to their heads
pretty easily, studio owners included. It would be a much happier industry if we
were all a bit less delusional and more friendly to each other.
MICKEY: Sure, I’m an introvert by nature so putting myself out there like this
carries it’s own risks. Also, I have to remind myself sometimes that I’m a smart,
resourceful man. Not just a sex object. Our fans help with that, though. They’re so
sweet and caring.
Are there any social or political issues that you feel strongly about at the moment?
COLBY: Well obviously I’d like to see Cheeto Hitler out of office as soon as
humanly possible.
MICKEY: I feel bad every time I read about politics lately. Our current course as a
country is extremely alarming and I can’t wait for 2020.
What would you like your life to be like five years from now?
COLBY: Not too much different from the way things are now, if I’m being honest.
I couldn’t want anything more from our home life. It’s perfect. I’d like the studio
to be capable of doing some larger productions. I want to get into some more
elaborate storylines, costumes… I want to make movies – but ones that just
happen to have a lot of hot sex in them.
MICKEY: In five years I hope we’re still doing this. I love what we do and want to
continue doing it for as long as possible. Of course, I want to see the site grow and
our production budget to increase along the way so that we can make even better
films.
