‘NAKED’ TRUTHS
Director Kay Brandt brings a new spin to a reality TV hit

The thing is, though, Derrick never bothered to tell Britney when the two were roughing it in
the desert that he was part of a threesome, and she’s been emailing and texting Derrick that she
wants to visit him now that they’re both back in the States—and he doesn’t quite know how to
handle it.
“I think more important than the physicality is the emotional connection that some of these
participants develop with their teammates,” Brandt said regarding Naked and Afraid. “Meeting a
stranger in the most bizarre conditions and having to trust them with your life for 21 days—that
is what this story is about: Two strangers meet each other on a show like Naked and Afraid, on
a survival show, and they develop a very intense connection and when the show is over, they
can’t get each other out of their minds, which I think probably happens probably a lot with
these people. But they go back to their married lives, and so do these characters, but the woman
goes back to her relationship that she was honest about with her boyfriend, and the male goes
back to a relationship that he was not honest about when he was on the show, because he’s in a
polyamorous relationship with another woman and another guy, and did not feel that he wanted
that broadcast on network television in that way, so he led his teammate to believe that he was a
lone wolf, man of the wilderness, alone, not involved with anybody, not tied to anybody’s strings,
and after the show’s over, they reconnect, and that’s when she finds out that he’s really not all
that he said he was.”

Anyone who reads the religious pro-censorship websites like Parents
Television Council, OneNewsNow and One Million Moms knows that
those sites and several others have a real hard-on (!) for the Discovery
Channel show Naked and Afraid—and that’s exactly why Kay Brandt is
directing a movie for Adam & Eve Pictures inspired by it, and to an
extent its sister-in-spirit, VH1’s Dating Naked.
“Naked and Afraid, I love that show!” Brandt exclaimed. “I’ve
been addicted to it for many years, and I’ve always wondered if the
participants actually have sex on the show? I mean, I know they do
on Dating Naked, but the participants on Naked and Afraid probably
don’t for the most part, because they’re starving, severely dehydrated,
covered in bug bites, in pain—all the kind of issues that would keep a
good sex experience from happening. But they do a lot of heavy-duty
spooning at night, in part to keep warm.”
In fact, that’s just the sort of activity this feature’s stars, Derrick
Pierce and Britney Amber, engage in as the main characters in
Brandt’s Naked and Afraid–style show-within-a-show, shot in the
closest thing Southern California has to the deserts of Madagascar.
Fortunately, that lensing took place in early May, before SoCal’s
100-plus-degree summer kicked in, but we’re guessing (we weren’t
there) the set was pretty sweaty anyway, what with the leads and
others, including Small Hands and Logan Long, getting it on in tents.
What we did get to see was Derrick’s reunion with his husband
and wife—did we mention it’s a polyamorous relationship?—Chanel
Preston and Ryan Driller. It’s a very friendly “welcome home” fuck
that includes plenty of cuddling, foreplay (Derrick licking Chanel’s
ear, feet and pussy; Chanel’s mouth engulfing Ryan’s tall rod; Ryan
muff-diving and fingering Chanel as she kisses Derrick) before the
threeway action begins, including plenty of doggie/bj, cowgirl/bj,

To say it was a bit uncomfortable to shoot that “reunion” scene would be an understatement.
Derrick invites Britney into his home’s living room and starts to explain his real-life living
situation to her, and soon they’re joined by Chanel and Ryan, though Britney still doesn’t get
what’s happening at first. Then the truth begins to dawn on her and—it’s at that point Kay
Brandt won’t reveal the rest of the plot. After all, she’s gotta keep something back! So buy the
DVD, people!
Naked will be released by Adam and Eve Pictures in the fall of 2017.
