your middle name by any chance ‘Sun’?”
With a name like that, we had to ask: “Is
“Why, yes,” responded the Alaska
native, who commutes to L.A. for work.
“How did you know?”
Lucky guess—and likewise, we suspected that a petite
cutie like Rhaya probably doesn’t winter in her home
town of Anchorage very well.
Right again: “Honestly, during the winter, I just stay
inside. I’m too tiny to go outside in the cold.”
When we spoke with her, Rhaya was very new to the
business, so we asked her how she wound up
in Porn Valley.
“I was asked to get into the adult
business by Dave Rock from Motley
Models, and just thought it would be
fun,” she said. “We met on Plenty
of Fish; it’s a dating website. I was
looking for a date and wound up in
porn. I’ve enjoyed it so far; definitely
been fun; something way different than
what I’m used to doing. I love people.”
Though she hadn’t yet met many people
in the industry, Rhaya said she’d like to
work with another short-timer, Molly
Madison, possibly in a girl/girl scene. “I love
her accent; I love everything about her. I could
do a lot of things with her.”
Being a newbie, Rhaya has yet to try anal, and
though she’s done a bit of bondage, “I’m not like too
freaky about it. I could do it, but wouldn’t want to get
too carried away.”
One thing Rhaya hopes to do while in the industry is
travel.
“I haven’t actually been to a lot of places,” she
admitted. “I’ve only been to Pennsylvania, New Jersey,
Vegas and California, and of course Alaska. I haven’t
ventured very far around the state, though; not enough
time.”
Though Anchorage is a fairly modern city, a lot of
Rhaya’s activities back there were fairly sedate, included
hairdressing, for which she found herself to have a
natural talent; cooking—”I’ll eat anything with noodles
in it; love pasta—love it!”—and smoking, both tobacco
and The Other Stuff, which is legal in her home state.
In fact, her dream is “owning a bunch of hotels all
over the world. I want to own an amazing hotel, where
you can smoke weed in it. ... I’d also like to own my
own dispensary. I smoke weed a lot.”
Her pet is similarly of the indoor variety: A blue beta
fish named Crimson.
But lest one get the idea that Rhaya is a complete
homebody, she also likes hiking, and she’ll be spending
her time improving her tan on the SoCal trails, though
she was still fairly pale when we saw her.
All in all, Rhaya’s a pretty quiet person—but for

Minnesota and started shooting the
Izzy Bell came to L.A. straight from
day she arrived, doing her first scene
for ATK. “It was an adventure, that’s
for sure,” she said. “I got there. I had set
the bar very low, because I didn’t know
if people would be professional or not,
because I had never done this before.
They were super professional. They made
sure I was comfortable the entire time. It
was so awesome. I’m still here.”
She started performing because “I
thought it would be fun. Somebody asked
me if I wanted to and I took a shot.” Back
home, she was “lollygagging around. I
had never taken a nude photo of myself
until they asked for one. I’m not that kind
of person.”
Why the change from never having a
nude picture taken to a full-on performer?
“Sometimes you think to yourself that
life’s a little too short. And people are
already judgmental assholes, so why not
just go for it and hope for the best?”
Although she was still working g/g
and solo when she talked to AVN, she
said she wants to do a g/g/b scene “on
a beach. I don’t mind the sand. I’d like
to do it with Jean Val Jean. He’s a cutie.
Crossing my fingers on that one.”
Ask her where she wants to go from
here, and she answers philosophically:
“Up. I want to be the light in the
darkness. I want to help other people
build up their own confidence. I’m
tired of these girls fat-shaming, skinny-
shaming, ‘You can see her tits.’ No. I
want to be the illuminating light that
says ‘Everything’s okay, it’s not the
end of the world. She’s beautiful, she’s
beautiful, she’s beautiful, she’s fuckin’
sexy.’ Seriously. I’m done. I’m tired of the
negativity.”
