In an industry where most performers
limelight, Kirk Cummings has been
going strong for nearly a decade. Kirk
has worked with leading studios and has
appeared in more than 300 scenes so far,
including several of the hit porn parodies
from ManvilleEntertainment.com.
Before Kirk made his porn debut in 2006,
he was better known as Zachary Travis—an
aspiring young singer whose American Idol
audition turned him into a household name
virtually overnight. Zachary’s audition had
a polarizing effect on audiences around the
country, and a year later he was back in the
headlines when he had made his porn debut
as Kirk Cummings.

What’s it like to work for Manville
Entertainment?
I love working with Manville and Austin
[the studio’s director]. Everyone knows I’m
a sucker for a good porn parody. It’s a nice
change from typical movies and it allows
you to be creative as an actor. Plus, Austin’s
energy on set helps to set a smooth pace for
the shoot. Anyone who has been on a porn
set knows this is a big deal. If the director
is stressed out and tense, it rubs off on
everybody else, which can lead to rushed
and below-average scenes. Austin is so down to earth. He makes me feel at ease and gives me a chance to do
the job that I came to do.
Do you get much fan mail?
I receive a ton, some days more than others. But I also get hate mail. For some reason, some people hate me
and aren’t shy about voicing it. I try not to read that stuff, but hey, curiosity killed the cat, right? People who
have never even met me are judging me based on a character I play. But screw the haters, because a fan letter
can make my day.
Do you also dance and DJ?
I go-go dance at clubs in Phoenix with a great group of guys called The Sinful Studs. I DJ here and there, too,
and would like to build up that side of my life more.
If there was a film about your life, what would the title be?
It would be called A Piece Of Me. [laughs] A drama/thriller.
Life lessons from recent years?
I’ve learned not to be quick to judge people. I’ve learned that no matter what you do in life, you can’t
please everyone—because someone is always gonna hate. I’ve learned to live for me and to be a kinder and
nicer person. There is so much negativity in this world and we could all afford to be a little kinder and more
accepting. I’ve learned to forgive and to let things go, because holding grudges just makes your life miserable.
And I’ve learned to be more humble.
