Vivacious bombshell Melissa Moore discovered almost the instant she
matter: her double-take-inducing resemblance to adult superstar and
newly crowned AVN Female Performer of the Year Riley Reid.
“If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard, ‘Oh you look like Riley,’ I’d make a
pretty good income,” Moore jokes. “But she’s freakin’ hot, so I take that as a big
compliment.”
The likeness actually first became apparent, Moore imparts, long before she
considered following in Reid’s footsteps. “I was the little horny girl with raging
hormones in high school, watching all these dirty videos, and I was like, ‘Hey, I
kind of look like her,’” she divulges. “But then I was like, ‘She’s fuckin’ hot …
does that mean I’m hot?’ I showed a few of my close friends, and everybody was
like, ‘Whoa! That’s weird!’ So they would call me ‘Little Riley.’”
Naturally, then, as soon as Moore did enter Riley’s world, it was more or less
a foregone conclusion that the two would be placed together in a scene. As it
turned out, it was Moore’s very first girl/girl, and the company that managed
to score the pairing—which Moore describes as “a dream come true”—was
Girlfriends Films, for volume 123 of reigning AVN Best All-Girl Series Women
Seeking Women.
Despite her Riley doppelgänger-hood, however, Moore says nobody pegged
her as a model type growing up. “I was in like theater tech,” she explains. “I
was in photography for three years, so being behind the camera was a lot more
comfortable for me, it was kind of like my hub. And then being in front of the
camera, I was like, ‘This is totally different. This is new.’”
Different, perhaps, but not frightening: “I felt confident in myself, and I had
pretty good self-esteem, I think, but just learning about different angles and
about the technical stuff with modeling, I was like, ‘This is kind of cool. This is a
different perspective,’ and I was really interested in that.”
Moore says she hopes to eventually parlay her experience on both sides of the
camera into some kind of behind the scenes opportunity.
“I mean, I feel like a sponge still, I’m just trying to absorb as much information
as possible,” she enthuses, “and being on set with these people who deal with
the technical side of things [is] super interesting to me. I would love to do like a
collaboration with something that’s behind the camera and exploring that side of
myself a little bit more and seeing what I can get creative with.”
One thing’s for certain: No matter what Moore decides she wants to do in the
industry, she’s got the outlook and conviction to make it happen. “If you hustle
and you have your mind set on something, a goal, if you focus on something that
you want to get done, and you surround yourself with people who can help you
build that and support you with it, then you can succeed,” she says. “I’m fucking
ready to bring some dope stuff to the table. I’m excited.”
