B. Skow Branches Out
Veteran director starts new division at Girlfriends Films
B.Skow will take the helm of a new division of
Girlfriends Films with a focus on producing and
directing only boy/girl movies.
Now in his fourth year with Girlfriends Films, Skow
said the change is part of a natural progression that will
allow him to do what he does best more often—create
unconventional porn.
“When we started the partnership we split
ownership of the movies and now Girlfriends is going
to buy all the rights and own Skow for Girlfriends, so
I can just shoot now,” Skow explained. “I won’t be
running the company. I’ll be directing and shooting
more movies, expanding on the series.
“With Sexually Explicit we’re coming up to our 10th
one. Beautiful New Faces is on No. 7; I just shot No. 8.
Ass Versus Pussy, we just did No. 2, I’m about to shoot
No. 3. So we’re going to expand on all of our series
now. We’ll expand on DVD and then eventually into
web so that the series will have their own sites.”
The new division and movies will be branded simply
as BSkow in the spirit of his namesake website,
BSkow.com, that contains individual sex scenes and full
movies from his extensive library.
“I won’t be shooting girl/girl anymore and I won’t
be doing any of the business end of it anymore,” Skow
continued. “I’ll just be concentrating on designing,
and the look of the company and the type of movies
that we do. So I’ll be shooting more and concentrating
on building the company a lot more now. I’ll also be
bringing in new directors eventually.”
Skow first teamed with Girlfriends Films in 2012,
ushering the lesbian porn heavyweight into the boy/girl
arena with five hardcore features in his first full year
shooting for the Skow for Girlfriends label; in addition,
he wrote and called the shots for 24 lesbian titles.
Since then he’s diversified Girlfriends Films’ boy/girl
presence with his flair for progressive filmmaking that
often departs from traditional gonzo or feature fare. In
short, Skow’s product is anything but typical.
“He’s been doing so many different things and now
he’s rebranding and concentrating on the features and
the boy/girl,” said Girlfriends Films president Moose.
“It takes a special talent, skill and artistic vision to even
try to do what he’s done.”
Calling Skow “old school” and “a workhorse,” Moose
said the time was right for the new arrangement. Their
plans call for more marketing and promotion behind
