WHO’S WHO
Everhard Goes East
One of adult’s top studs talks about his new life in Prague
name, serving since 1998 as one of porn’s most
Veteran cocksman Erik Everhard truly lives up to his
durable, sought-after performers. Recently he
made a big life change and transplanted himself
that I’ve been exploring for the
to Europe—a move he’s been contemplating
since 2002. Settled in Prague for the time being, Everhard

says he doesn’t miss L.A. and is focused on his passions,
which include art photography and “finding out who I
am,” he says. “The last five years I became very spiritual in a

sense.”
Although he’s left L.A., Everhard hasn’t left the business:
“I know people thought I was retiring, but I never said
I was retiring.” He continues to work, more so now
ever, doing scenes mostly for LegalPorno.com,
where he says he doesn’t have to deal with any
“politics.”
Speaking of politics, Everhard wasn’t afraid
to speak his mind about a variety of topics.
Are you glad you made the move?
I was always glad I made the move for a
whole bunch of reasons. But yeah, it’s been
nothing but positive for me. … Ever since I
first came here in 1999 there was an energy
that I felt about the place where I was like,
“I need to spend some time there.” And
then it was solidified in 2002, so anybody
who knows me personally has known that
it’s been my goal to move over here since
that time.
You’ve shot in Europe plenty in the past.
My first trips here, Anabolic Video flew
me out. So I did a bunch of European tours
with Anabolic back in the day. And then when I
worked for Red Light District I would come out
here every couple of months either to Prague
or Budapest. I’d shoot for like a month and
then go back. But I haven’t been here since
2006.
What are your goals now?
My goals have definitely shifted. Over
the last five years I became very spiritual
in a sense. So more of it is just about
finding my path, finding my purpose.
I’ve got a passion for art photography
that I’ve been exploring for the last
seven years. So it’s more about finding
out who I am. I find that most people
don’t want to know who they are.
You think that’s where your path lies,
in the art world?
It’s a path that has been shown
to me and I’m good at it. There’s
always a converging of things.
There’s what you want to do and
then there’s what you’re good
at, and you’re finding where
those two things fall in sync.

What sort of politics are there in the European porn industry?
Right now where I’m at there really aren’t any. The company where
I’m working at, it’s solely based on your ability. And I’m the best at
what I do. The scenes are awesome and they’re difficult and not
everybody can do them. So it’s really based on how good your
ability is, not anything else. The kind of stuff they’re shooting
here it’s not like there’s some big long story and script and
all this stuff, then you do a boy/girl scene. No, no, no, no.
[Laughs] This is like what I used to do for Anabolic 10, 13
years ago. Everything is double anal, d.p., three on one, four
on one. So if you can’t cut the mustard as a performer you
don’t have a shot.
What’s the name of the company you’re working for?
It’s Legal Porno. They’re a fantastic company. It’s web-
based. I love working there and they’ve treated me very
well. So I have nothing but gratitude.
Is there any difference shooting in Europe and in the States?
I would say the women are prettier in Europe than their
American counterparts. And of course, you really can’t work
here as a woman and not do anal. It’s kind of a pre-requisite. So
I would say that is a clear difference. I would also say you get a
lot of different things because you get women from completely
different backgrounds.
As far as being a male performer is concerned, do you feel you accom-
plished everything you had set out to do? Were there any regrets?
I don’t think you could actually have regrets anymore because if you
change anything from the past you’d be a different person today. Like if
you change one minute detail, you would not be the same person that you
are today. And I like who I am today. You can’t say that there’s something
that needed to be changed. I made really good money. Sure, I could’ve made
more money. One of the problems of our business is that so many people are
focused on money that it kind of sucks their souls. ... You need to have money
and you need to be smart with your money, which I have been. I’ve got another
business which I spent 10 years building, but in general people get so obsessed
with cars and money and all this shit which really doesn’t matter. ...
Most guys would love to be in your position: being a top male performer for so
many years and still in demand. What have been your secrets to success?
I’m very strong mentally. I’m one of those people you just can’t break mentally.
And being a performer, it’s 95 percent mental. The girl can like me; the girl can
hate me. The producer can like me; the producer can make my life miserable. I can
work on some asphalt on the floor; I can work in a bed. It’s all mental. What is my
mental state? I remember, this was 15 years ago and a man from Arena magazine did an
interview with me and he was asking me, because he saw me work, and he said “Man,
that was amazing. What were you thinking of that whole time you were fucking the shit
out of her?” I said, “That’s exactly it, nothing. There was not a thought going on in my
head. Just white noise. What should I be thinking about? I’m having sex with a beautiful
girl. Shouldn’t I be thinking about that?”
