K ate England caught my eye at AVN Adult
Entertainment Expo in January. Bright-eyed,
looking at the world from under a tomboy
thatch of short blonde hair and wearing at
halter top that looked like it was going to fall
off any moment, she stood out in the darkness of the fan
fest at The Joint. In less than eight months she’s done
more than 100 scenes by her reckoning. Have a look.

How did you start with this?
I was a cam girl, and I got an offer on the site that looked
really legit, so I went to Miami, and started doing porn.
It’s a four-hour drive through the Everglades. My first
scene was for Reality Kings, for In the VIP, and I stayed
there a month—shot for Bang Bros, Score, a couple of
other people—and then I went out to L.A.
What did you do before this?
I went to college and graduated as a radiologist, and I was
working 65-70 hours a week. It was too much for me. I
couldn’t handle it. I had no life. I cut it to part-time and
started camming, also.

How many scenes have you done now?
It has to be over 100 in seven and a half months. Not all are for
big companies, some are for small producers.
What’s the best scene you’ve done so far?
They’ve been getting better lately. I really like shooting for
Kink.com, because it’s always crazy and unexpected stuff. I did
a Fucking Machines and an Everything Butt for them. I’ve been
working for them a lot lately.
Who do you want to work for that you haven’t yet?
I want to work with Hustler and I want to work with Wicked.
I’d love to be in Hustler magazine and I’d like to say I worked
for them. For Wicked, it’s more like attitude: You can bring
your attitude in and you don’t have to be, like, a team girl.
How is making videos different from what you thought?
It’s harder than I thought it would be. When I did my first boy/
girl scene, I was sore. Not my private parts, my whole body.
I’m used to working out but I was sore in places I’ve never
been sore in before. I call them “porn muscles.” All the posing
and arching and turning ... Doing things you’re not used to.
Reverse cowgirl takes it out of you. Porn looks like sex but it
isn’t. It’s much harder.
Do you like working in the adult industry?
Yes, I love it. There’s always new experiences, meeting new
people, learning new things about sex. It’s a good workout, and
I’m getting paid. I love when they give me dialogue.
What’s the biggest misconception outsiders have of the adult
industry?
They don’t think we’re tested. They think girls are taken right
off the street without paperwork or tests. No. We’re all chosen,
we’re all paid, there’s paperwork beforehand. 14-day tests. We
don’t really do street blowjobs. I’ve told that to my friends who
know I’m in porn and it’s just ruined porn for them.
What are your biggest turn-ons?
I kind of like kinky stuff, I guess. I like rough sex. I haven’t
done it in porn yet, but I like being tied up. I’ve heard some
porn can get extreme, I don’t know how extreme I’m willing
to go yet. I really like fem-dom stuff. Pegging and that kind of
thing.
Describe your dream sexual scenario.
Hmmmm. I’ve only done it once—not in porn—but it was
really hot. I had a bisexual threesome with two guys. At the
time it was at the top of my bucket list of things that I wanted
to do. I had a friend who was all pretty-boy, blond hair and blue
eyes, and he had a friend who was also bi but the complete
opposite: tall, dark, handsome, black hair, brown eyes. Perfect. I
was like “I don’t even care if I’m involved. I just want to watch
you guys.” If I could do that again, and maybe add a little fem-
dom and a little bondage, that’d probably be my dream.
What three personal items would you take if you were stranded
on a desert island?
Do dogs count? My dogs. A bottle of wine.
And probably a vibrator. I don’t want to
sound porn-y, but I don’t think I could live
without it.
What’s your most valuable life lesson?
Basically, you have to just know what
makes you happy. I’m working and I’m
traveling but I’m leaving a lot of important
things out, like my dogs. I leave them for
a month at a time and I only see them on
webcam. Money isn’t the most important
thing. Porn’s cool, money’s awesome, but
know what’s important to you.
How would you last day on earth?
With my dogs. Some really good food. I
would probably get high.
How would your best friends describe you?
Determined. Honest. Always has to learn
the hard way.
How do you spend your free time?
Catching up on TV shows. Drinking wine.
I was catching up on Breaking Bad, now it’s
Game of Thrones.
If you weren’t doing this, what would you
like to be doing?
I’d be working at the hospital. I loved the
job. It was interesting, all math and science.
It was cool to know something like that,
and you help people. Sometimes it’s sad. I
found bone cancer on one lady’s ribs. I’m
glad I didn’t have to be the one to tell her. I
just took the pictures, but I would look.
Do you have a long-range plan?
People keep saying I’m going to be one of
the next big names in porn. When I got
in this that wasn’t my goal. I never even
thought about that. I go to the set, I do
my best, I have fun, I learn new things. I
really only did it for the money. I wasn’t
trying to get anywhere with it. I’ll stay in as
long as I keep making money and if I end
up becoming a big name, that’s swell. If
not, I’ll go back to Florida and work in the
hospital. That’s my plan B.
