Best New Starlet Carter Cruise finds her ‘Obsession’
When Carter Cruise entered the adult industry in 2013,
she set one simple goal for herself and her
career.
“I never wanted to ‘save’ anything,” the 2015 AVN
Best New Starlet and Best Actress winner said. “I
had never really watched porn before I got into the
industry, but when I thought about it, I read as
much as I could and studied the industry as much
as I could. From the start, I knew that if I was
gonna do this, I was gonna do everything.”
It didn’t take long for her to mark off things
that most girls in the industry take years to
accomplish, if ever: Threesomes, anal, cream pies,
d.p.’s, romantic features, vignettes … In less than
two years, the petite blonde had quite an impressive
resume. But one thing was missing from her
checklist: interracial.
With the same deliberate nature that made her
career soar in such a short amount of time, Carter
set about to find the perfect vehicle for her debut
interracial scene. That perfect storm came
in the form of a Blacked.com project
with director Greg Lansky and Dana
Vespoli, who co-wrote the script
for a four-part star showcase
titled Carter Cruise
Obsession.
“I had worked with
Greg before, so I was
excited to do that
again,” she told AVN.
“I had heard good
things about Blacked,
and I really liked their
stuff and decided I
really wanted to work
with them.”

Obsession features the
young performer in
a B/B/G scene with
Flash Brown and
Jason Brown, a B/G/G
creampie scene with
Riley Reid and Rob
Piper, a B/G scene with
Michael Williams, and
an anal scene with Flash
Brown. The first chapter
of the project was released
online at Blacked.com on
June 10, and another went
live on July 5. The response
to the initial releases was
so overwhelming that the
team at Blacked decided to
expedite the release of the
full DVD to August.

Cruise said she had never met the male talent before shooting any of the
scenes, which added to the excitement of the project.
“Greg shoots differently than any other director I have worked with,
and I really like his work ethic and his approach to scenes. He’s a
perfectionist, and so am I,” she said. “And not knowing the guys
beforehand really made everything that much more exciting!”
Cruise said the entire experience was a positive one.
Since she had worked with Vespoli before, as well, the
script featured dialogue that seemed natural and easy
for her to deliver.
“I love Dana; she’s amazing,” Cruise said. “I
really enjoyed working with her. She had a feeling
for how I would deliver lines, so she wrote them
in that style.”
As for her fellow castmates, Cruise said she
was “pretty much down for whatever” and was
excited to work with them to let Greg channel
his vision for the scenes.
“I was really excited about the scene with
Riley and Rob,” she added. “I had worked
with Riley a few times that month, and I just
loved it. She was one of the few people I
knew about before I got into porn. And
Rob was so easy to talk to and get
along with. I think that turned out
to be one of my favorite scenes
not just in this project, but
ever.”
Another major selling
point for Carter Cruise
Obsession is that it’s one
of the last projects she
completed before she
went back to performing
G/G only for a spell to
give her body a break.
“I knew that I wanted
to take a little bit of a
break, so I wanted to
make sure that I got this
done first,” she said. “I
am by no means retiring
or anything. I don’t
think that I ever want to
give up this career. But
now that I have done so
many major milestones,
I like that I am in a
place where I can take
a step back and make
really awesome projects
that I am really excited
about, like Carter Cruise
Obsession.”
