Maybe we were inspired by ESPN Films’ 30 for 30 documentary series, created when the
sports channel reached the end of its third decade. Or maybe we just like the number.
Regardless, after AVN turned 30, we started thinking in lists of 30, and we’ll be sharing
the results with you during the rest of the year.

The quest for a reliable libido booster dates back milennia to the beginning of recorded
history. And many of the same herbal ingredients used in ancient civilizations can still be
found in supplements today, including ginseng, oysters, guarana, damiana, yohimbe, clary
sage, ginger, and ylang-ylang. And while most aphrodisiacs fall into three types—stimu-
lating the libido, increasing potency, or intensifying pleasurable sensation—there are many

While we’re on the subject of numbers, Wicked Pictures hit a major milestone this
spring. It was 20 years ago that founder Steve Orenstein started his studio—an early
proponent of the type of couples fare that has been proliferating in the marketplace.
Mark Kernes sat down with the studio chief as he talked about how he got his start, and
what’s kept him going.
Director-performer Lexington Steele has been around almost as long. Fifteen years ago
he moved to Porn Valley, and he talked to Steve Javors this month about the next big
thing in his career: joining the roster of Evil Angel’s directors.
But this issue isn’
t just about the past. There’s plenty of bold new moves happening in
the adult industry. This month Jules Jordan will begin distributing content on DVD from
online BDSM giant Kink.com—a development that will make fetish fanatics take note.
Another big change is coming from abbywinters.com, purveyor of amateur-girl erotica.
The company, which distributes through Wicked Pictures, has dipped its all-natural toes
into the boy/girl waters. CEO Garion Hall talks about the reasons behind the decision.
Speaking of Q&As about online adult entertainment, listen in on WebcamWiz’s Shay,
vice president of sales, marketing and business development, about the white label cam
site venture. Started by ImLive/PussyCash a couple years ago, it’s seen strong growth in
the marketplace, and Shay gives some of the reasons why.
Finally, don’t miss the announcement of a totally new venture involving director Joshua
and Jim Crawford of SoCal Licensing. Together with some Silicon Valley entrepreneurs,
they’re launching a new service to integrate adult content with the Apple iOS. Its name?
iPorn. And they hope to do for porn what iTunes did for music.
